Safe Driving habits may just save your life.

Safe driving habits may be the only thing that stands between life and death some days.

Are you driving on an Auto-Piloted mind?

As with any other habit, bad habits are formed quickly and are difficult to break. I have spoken to many drivers who have acknowledged that they would stop at their driveway and not know how they got there. Not because they were drunk or stoned out of their minds, but because they went on autopilot the moment they got into their cars. They have driven the road so many times, that they hardly think about what they are doing, while they are doing it.
Conscious driving is one of those habits that you have to work at every single day that you get into a car.

A professional and qualified driving instructor may help establish safe driving habits

Establishing safe driving habits is, in my opinion, one of the most important reasons why you should start your driving career under the tutelage of a professional and qualified driving instructor. It is also important that your ‘backup driving instructors (e.g. mums, dads) must be aware of the best practices when it comes to driving instructions.

Real life experience under supervision is important in establishing safe driving habits

Apart from the focus on basic car control skills, driving techniques, road law knowledge and initial driver licensing, the more real life experience a student gets, whilst being supervised, the more it contributes to safe driving habits in his future, and the more it minimises his crash risks.
I looked into the research again and found that learners who are supervised have probably the lowest risk of being involved in a crash while under supervision. This supervision contributes to getting real life experience which then contributes to more real confidence and not the biassed confidence that young inexperienced drivers often have. (The effectiveness of Driver Training/Education as a Road Safety Measure, 2011 Edition/Update, RACV, p2)
Research has also shown that students with about 118 hours of supervised driver training experienced 35% fewer crashes than their counterparts who only received 41-47 hours of supervised training.

Passing your driver’s licence should not be your end goal. A clean record and safe driving should be the ultimate goal.

Passing your driver’s licence should not be your end goal when you hire a driving instructor. Learning how to do things the right way and how to keep yourself and others safe while on the road must be your goal, at all times.
I know that I am speaking mostly to mums and dads at this moment. I really want to appeal to you. Do not hire a driving instructor just because you want your kid to pass his licence. Hire a professional and qualified instructor because you want your child to continue driving safely after he got his licence, and you want him to keep on coming home every day.
I provide driving lessons in the areas of Ballajura, Morley, Duncraig, Marangaroo, Mirrabooka, Dianella, Alexander Heights and Joondalup.
